Cushing´s Syndrome in the Child

Abstract

|
This is the report of one case of Cushing´s syndrome, caused by adrenocortical cancer which was treated surgically at the Department of Surgery, Seoul Adventist Hospital.
As we know well, the common dominator of Cushing´s, syndrome is hypercorticism or increa-sed secreation of adrenal cortisol.-
Because of the improved diagnostic methods, and advancement of pathophysiological knowl edge, it has been the impression of some physician that the incidence of Cushing´s syndrome is ever increasing recently but carcinoma of the adrenal cortex as a cause of the syndrome is rather rare.
We have had the opportunity to treat one male child of Cushing´s syndrome caused by cancer.
Here, we report the result of the surgical treatment with the brief review of literature.
